Stay updated!CHLA Reprocessing – Updates & Resources
What’s Happening
- The BGC-Argo program is undertaking its first high-impact reprocessing of CHLA data to improve accuracy and usability.
- A new physiological ratio will be applied during the Real-Time Adjustment of CHLA (Sauzède et al., 2025; DOI:10.17882/105732).
- This adjustment will have a significant impact on BGC-Argo CHLA data, with changes by a factor of ~4 in certain areas, such as the Southern Ocean.
- This reprocessing may have a significant impact on end-users. During the transition period, beginning in June 2026, please note that the dataset may temporarily lack homogeneity.
Methodology
If you are interested in the details of the new Real-Time physiological ratio computation, the timeline for operationalization, and the broader implications of this update for ocean science and operational applications, please follow our webinar.
