The Italian contribution to global Biogeochemical-Argo is coordinated within the Argo-Italy program where the national priorities are defined.

  • The overall priorities of Italian Biogeochemical-Argo are totally in phase with those defined at an international level with respect to scientific and societal questions, variables to be acquired and float mission configuration.

  • Areas of preferential Areas of preferential deployments include the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea and the Pacific sector of the Austral Ocean.


The Italian contribution to global Biogeochemical-Argo is supported the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).
